- Make authoritative technical decisions and recommendations that affect broader engineering activities.
- Apply advanced engineering principles and specialized technical knowledge to solve complex problems.
- Develop innovative engineering approaches, standards, methods, and technical guidance.
- Independently identify opportunities to improve product performance, cost, schedule, methods, and procedures.
- Plan and execute engineering investigations in areas where established precedents may be limited.
- Support hydraulic system design, including equipment installation, system routing, component qualification, secondary structure, electrical bonding, fire-test requirements, and certification.
- Support fluid-system simulation and related design analysis.
- Support waste and water system integration, including equipment installation, routing, cabin coordination, flammability, component qualification, secondary structure, and electrical bonding.
- Collaborate with suppliers on joint design and qualification activities.
- Support new aircraft certification activities and applicable requirements, including ARP4754A and RTCA DO-160.
- Work directly with aircraft, production, flight test, and laboratory environments to support design development and problem solving.
- Support aircraft electronic integration considerations involving areas such as CAS messages, GCMS, and CMC pages.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
